Thai food is a combination of the best of several Eastern cuisines. You have the spicy bite of Szechuan Chinese, the tropical flavours of Malaysia and the creamy coconut of South Indian. Although Thai cuisine is generally hot and spicy it can be adjusted to suit Western palates.
Thai cuisine uses an abundance of fresh herbs including; coriander (leaves & roots), fresh Thai basil (not to be confused with the European variety), mint, lemon grass, garlic, coconut milk, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, ginger and of course chillis.
